Help with SEGA Saturn mod chip install, please.

So here's the deal, I've got a Saturn since forever and some (now) valuable games that I don't feel like getting scratched when I feel an itch to play them. A friend in England sent me a mod chip, saying I could install it and play backed up versions of my games. Trouble is, I can't find a tutorial for the chip that I have... found lots for chips that look a lot LIKE the one I have, but not exactly. Hopefully someone here can help.

I've taken pictures of the console, inside and out, as well as both sides and an extra angle of the mod chip. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can view the images here:

Mmm... I think you have an old modchip.

If I remember well I think we have a Saturn system gift from a friend from China with a modchip like this.

Is possible you only need atach the data cable from the lector and the 5v from power supply. This chip don't need another wire to a mainboard.

Hope this help you.

Looks like you've got a Model 2 Saturn and a Model 1 Mod Chip. The chip looks the same as the one in this guide: linky.

Model 1 Saturns are the ones with oval power/reset buttons, while Model 2s have round power/reset buttons.

Those Model 1 chips are pretty hard to get hold of, so if you want to get a Model 2 chip from Racketboy, I'd be interested in buying the Model 1 chip from you to cover the cost.
