    A Saturn Programming Challenge

Definitely, that is very impressive use of the DSP capabilities.

You are 100% correct, there is absolutely no reason other than "because"...

    A Saturn Programming Challenge

So, I had looked into this a few years ago and then stopped for lack of time. The Yamaha SCSP has a programmable DSP that can operate at ~44000 Hz, it has an internal multiply/add pipeline (integer) and due to its capabilities for effects like reverb and echo, it can operate on circular buffers...

    Amazing New 3d Sonic Homebrew

Maybe later this year. I was tempted to get the Cartdev out of storage to do some performance experiments with the VDP1 and the SCU DSP...

    Amazing New 3d Sonic Homebrew

I have a lot of respect for anyone who puts in the effort and does something nice. It already looks way better than the v40 X-Treme engine, which was never coded appropriately for the Saturn, and was never completed... Kudos to XL2

    SCU DSP documentation

Hey, I pinged you on PM just because I could not be sure you would be tracking this thread, thanks for your reply. That makes a lot of sense, I will try to read through the code changes and at the same time I will try to remember from when I was actually programming the Saturn back then, as I...

    SCU DSP documentation

Sounds good, it will just take me much longer to do that if they did it, as I have to compare each operation documented in the PDF with the implementation in the emulator to find discrepancies, whereas the authors certainly know which ones they had to make corrections to. If noone else takes...

    SCU DSP documentation

Thank you vbt :) I am looking at the gurus here, please share your information, it would be really precious! I haven't had too much time with the DSP back in the day and I lost all my notes... Jolly

    SCU DSP documentation

Hello everyone, Given that it is common knowledge that the Sega official documentation for the SCU DSP contains several mistakes, could we gather here all we know about this so that we create and maintain an "errata"? I would find it useful, and I hope others would too... Cheers, Jolly

    SGL versions

No, I mean actually the SGL. Has anyone here seen/used any versions of the SGL prior to 302j?

    SGL versions

Just curiosity, really. Some of the earliest SGL versions supposedly came with source code, and it is interesting to study the approach they took to build the various parts of the libraries... Jolly
