Lunar SSS English Patch

Translating Lunar Silver Star Story 1.5.1

The attachment is back. The patch is only compatible with version 1.05 of the game. Found out this morning that there is apparently a version 2.00, not sure if others exist.

Lunar for the Sega CD was the first RPG I beat and I am excited to play this on my Saturn. Thank you!

Question: Once the .fil and wave files are taken from the PSX game and put into the \CD_FILES folder, can we keep them there and use the same files for future versions of the patch or will we need to copy them from the original disk each time?
If the files are not modified and keep that's cool, if not I want to back them up so I don't have to rip them from the CD each time.

EDIT: Actually it isn't failing but the readme file points to the wrong location.

"The data image will be located at .\CD_Files\ISO_OUT\"
should read
"The data image will be located at .\Build\ISO_OUT\"

ISO creation is failing. I am using v1.05

The wav files are actually meant to be from the Sega Saturn version, although it shouldnt matter if you want to go with the PSX ones as long as the length doesnt go over the CD limitations (I havent checked).
You can keep the Saturn bin/cue rip, .FIL file, and WAV files where you drop them. The scripts wont overwrite them.
You can also delete the files in tmp as long as you keep the folders.
Any updates to this version will likely be xdelta files affecting 0, SYSTEM.DAT, and the TEXT files.

The warning is okay. Is it still creating the iso image?

So it looks ilke if I leave the files, I can just overwrite the new contents over the old to update.

I was able to patch my ISO and put it on my RHEA, and it indeed works on an ODE. I'm not sure if ripping Tracks 02 and 03 are necessary for the ODE, but I'll verify and let you know.

The patch isn't working for me. I ripped from my original 1.05 Disc. Everything is fine while copying files from the .bin and extracting from lunadata, after this it's a carnival of errors I can't even keep up with the messages.

Uhm, looks like something's wrong with the lunadata (attached). Investigating.

Try this version of the bat file and see where the first error occurs. I threw in a lot of pauses. You could be getting that error if the cd extraction failed and the destination folder was never created.

Thank you. The problem really was with the lunadata. I just downloaded another ps1 image giving 0 fucks and extracted it. It works now. :)

Learned about this today by chance on Twitter from a Spanish site. Now logging on to eBay to get my copy of Saturn LSSS... Finally, I can get rid of my PS1 version soon I hope!

First of all I wanted to thank everyone involved for this patch I have been playing it a bit. I am playing on a real Saturn with a Rhea.

I have never played this version so looking forward to testing it out.

It should work. The only things Supper changed in the psx script were the treasure chest amounts and he added back in the note about the Myghts tower puzzle. Everything else he reverted was external to the game script, so its already fixed by using the original saturn code.

In my opinion, the process of patching the game needs to be simplified. The PS1 version requirement is clearly unnecessary.

I agree its a rather overly complicated process at the moment. However because the current version uses the copyrighted psx script, which is owned by Gamearts, there isnt a way to simply just apply something like an xdelta patch to distribute legally.

So, does that mean that using the Un-Worked design is better so the text matches the amount in the Saturn version's treasure chests?
