Dracula-X / Symphony of the Night

Translating Dracula X / SOTN Beta V1.02 1.021

I hope this abuse doesn’t put you off continuing this mod, they’re the minority, there’s more supporters than haters!
Nah, these type of comments I do not find off putting. I find them rather amusing and it actually motivates me to continue working more haha. It is only the ones that make the project stop being fun and start being work.

Both of you are being silly.

1) Changing Richters portrait makes this no where near the level of a Working Designs localization.
2) Not liking the change is a legitimate criticism/complaint that can easily be addressed by either offering a version that doesn't have that change or someone else making an addendum patch to remove it.
This is a great idea, to eventually have a version that is just a bare-bones text-translation of DraculaX. I don’t know how difficult this would be, but maybe after there is a final version completed, this could be re-visited. Either way, this is an awesome project, and much-appreciated.

It is perfectly fine to express even critical opinions about projects, though maybe create a separate thread in one of the other forums, so this one can concentrate on the technical parts.

If you want to keep the thread open, keep the discussion civil. And again, I warmly recommend starting a separate thread for non-technical discussion.
Don't worry KoD, he's probably still living with his mom at 35+ and collecting checks from the government to pay bills. Keep doing your amazing work. I'm enjoying your work between doing this.

Did anyone finish the game with less than 190% of the castle map discovered using Alucard? That's the only ending i could not verify since i mistakenly went past the mark on my original run.

Knight Dragon Once again I congratulate you for the great job. I'm loving every progress I see. It is 100% better than the Dracula X 4RAM version. And I say I'm looking forward to seeing the final version with the audio in English from the PS1 version.

Thank you so much for this. SotN is one of my top 5 games ever on any platform, and whilst I've played through most of what the Saturn version offers in the HD port on Xbox it's really, really nice to be able to play it on my Saturn.

I can confirm it's working great on my Fenrir equipped Model 1 (VA1) NTSC (U) Saturn.

One question (please don't take as criticism, I'm just curious): Why did you not use the Richter portrait from the character select menu for cut scene conversations?

Again; thank you for the effort and no doubt huge investment of time you have put into this.

OK, Got it. Sorry to re-raise what seems to be a contentious issue. I appreciate the attention to detail that led to your decision to use the RoB image.

I saw you suggest that someone might produce an image with a more similar art style to the other portraits, are you still inviting submissions in that regard?

I know it has nothing to do with the topic, but how did you use this technique I wanted to ask. What program was used to put the intro video in the format to run on Saturn? I say this because I am studying the possibility of changing the presentation of Saturn's Virtual Fighter 2, and the format that the videos are in is AVI Video File.
I ask why in the game files the videos are in this format, but I don't know if it's the normal AVI.
