I saw you suggest that someone might produce an image with a more similar art style to the other portraits, are you still inviting submissions in that regard?

K0D - have you made any changes (or do you intend to) in accessing the map screen as per the 4mb hack?

Having a single button press to the map screen would be a welcome mod...

AVI is a generic format. The codec in it is what is important. You need to reencode new video in the same codec.
Could you please tell me what that codec would be? I already searched the internet all the more I don't think this codec program for converting the video. Thanks for the information.
 
No idea, you need to check something like Virtual Dub or FFMpeg. Castlevania uses TrueMotion. Most 1st party Sega games used Cinepak, but this normally had a CPK extension. No idea what Virtua Figher used.

I cropped it down to a headshot with similar proportions to those already in the game, flipped it, muted the colours a little and dropped the resolution to make it appropriately pixilated. it's a PNG file with no background so it should appear like Drac/Alucard etc. in conversation scenes.

For people mentioning Malachi and Ctuhlu[sic] translation errors (Outside of this chain) I am not seeing the problem. I may change Ctuhlu to the Devil since more of the games in the series use it, but I do not want to go around and use names not familiar with the Castlevania series.

Oh man! I know at last what the game is asking now at saving game! Im really happy about your work K0D. You gave everyone outside japan a chance to play this game properly in the right console. Thanks man. It is just too nice (the game itself does a lot aswell haha). I will keep u informed in case I notice something misbehaving. I wont get tired of saying thanks :congrats::congrats::congrats:

For Malachi and Ctuhlu the solution is simple: just exchange both names, but he is not seeing the problem.

If it is canon to the entire series and not a single game, I am going to leave it as such. Which is why I do not see it as a problem.

KoD is basically hacking a new and better port on the saturn.
The game is not slow because of the hardware, the game is slow because of poorly written software. It is a matter of identifying where the slowdown occurs. I already know one thing that slows it down is how the game checks for cut scenes. It is continuously checking a huge statement on the update cycle, which can be moved out and replaced with a stub.

Interesting. While we are here talking about inprovements, do you think it would be possible to: 1- restoring the wolf swim ability and 2- implement the mist in the Outer Wall, but a proper half transparent effect like the one use in games like Grandia, Albert Odyssey etc?
 
Grandia pulls that off by using VDP2. It would entirely depend on if there's a VDP2 layer available to do it. For what it's worth, the mist is random on the PS1 version. Sometimes it shows, other times it's just rain, other times there's nothing. Saturn I think it's just rain or nothing.
