Even when patching the CD Image directly?

    Translating Grandia

So I've spent some time debugging this with KnightOfDragon and it seems to be an issue with patching a CD Image. If you patch the disc directly in your CD-ROM drive, or with an image mounted to a virtual drive the issue doesn't happen. So it seems to be an issue with the patcher at the moment...

I'd guess it's something wrong with the patcher then. The CD Audio track should be replaced with an English version.

Saves are completely compatible. You can even load them up in the Japanese version without issue. The only save files that have issues are some from Digital Museum where the map had to be split into two files due to the English script being larger. This doesn't exist with saves made through...

    Translating Dracula X / SOTN Beta V1.02

Unfortunately fixing that isn't as simple as just telling the system not to do it. All the graphics are pre-stretched to be wider and stored that way on the disc. You'd have to completely redo all the graphics, then redo the VDP2 tile maps to deal with the smaller tiles, then redo all the VDP1...

    Radiant Silvergun in English

It has a layer to draw text obviously, it does it in the last level. The issue I'd see with it is the same one I had on the XBLA version. With all that action going on do you really have the ability to devote your attention away to reading subtitles?

    Translating Grandia

So I have a fix for it, I'll try to get a new patch out soon for it. It comes back to the script correction demanded back here: Translating Grandia Basically this part of the game the script sequence skips to other parts of the file quite a few times. Trying to increase the script size to...

Looks like it's a typo in the original translation. I'll try to fix it in the next patch. Can you please provide a save file.

It's an emulator issue with a workaround on Mednafens forums.

Lunar 2 Eternal Blue CPK video Add subtitles?

Replacing files with ones already in the game works because they're still encoded the same way. You need the proper encoder to encode new files.

Lunar 2 Eternal Blue CPK video Add subtitles?

Lunar Eternal Blue's Cinepak files are 1.09 and use ADX Audio. We don't have the encoder for that. MsTea was trying to get it working with FFMPEG but it has audio corruption issues last I tried it. You'll either have to write your own encoder, wait for it to get fixed in FFMPEG, or hope the...

Repairing Saturn Floppy Disk Drive (FDD) Help

If you don't have an actual floppy disk any activity the drive does is extremely brief, and it will only do something if a game or program is designed to check for it. So just booting the Saturn up wont get any activity. Even the FDD Operator barely does anything if there's no disk in the drive...

Repairing Saturn Floppy Disk Drive (FDD) Help

The FDD doesn't have any fans in it so you shouldn't hear anything like that. But it should at least do a simple click and have the light flash quickly if you boot up the FDD Operator disc with no Floppy Disc inserted.

    Psuedo Saturn Issues

Grandia does a lot of data streaming off the disc. If the music, FMVS, etc. are skipping it's probably a sign of a bad burn. So it could be that it was burned poorly or that the CD-R media is of poor quality. Try using a better quality CD-R and burning at the slowest speed possible.

Those I changed because it was way too much text to cram into the small resolution of the FMVs. I'll see if I can fix the typo of the missing "of" and "less" though. As for looking at them, just look for footage of the HD Remasters FMVs as that's where the subs were lifted from.

    Translating Grandia

I thought I fixed that typo but if not I'll put it in the next update. As for the credits, there was only so much space I could use to keep things timed properly. And since there were a few others who helped with this putting a group credit as SegaXtreme seemed to be the most fair. Individual...

    Egword 2.0 English translation

So if you know what the exact compressed data looks like and where to find it in a Hex Editor, you can try copying it out of the game data into it's own file and then throwing it at different common Saturn Compression utlities. Puyo Tools can handle PRS compression which is a pretty common one...
