    Translating Grandia

YAY! This just keeps getting better! Ordered my Fenrir yesterday and now I find out that both discs of the translation are playable...SWEET :-D

    Translating Grandia

Glad someone has tested this with Fenrir, as I'm thinking of investing in one later this month (fed up of stupid twitchy Saturn lasers and burning coasters that almost work). Also my old Pioneer burner that worked great at 4x for burning Saturn discs has gone to the computer graveyard [goodbye...

    Translating Grandia

First off, if you are burning at high speed (anything over 4x), the discs will never work correctly in the Saturn (if they have in the past, you've been lucky) and this will also put more stress on the ageing laser of your Saturn. You want to burn at 4x or slower (the slower the better - 1x if...

    Translating Grandia

Also remember that real hardware can cause issues due to laser wear and other factors...just saying... @TrekkiesUnite118 - loving your work on the Sakura Wars patch and looking forward to the next Grandia release...

Looking forward to the next patch release :) Any news from behind the scenes?

    Translating Grandia

It's likely the speed of your burner (or the burner itself) - not the media. I have good Ritek dye media that I use and I burn at 4X on a Pioneer DVDRW. If you can get an older burner that supports 1X then that's even better.

    Translating Grandia

@TrekkiesUnite118 - I'm just going to follow your initial advice and use an emulator to help with beta testing, as making CDR backups with each beta will use too many discs. Once there is a need to move to actual hardware - then we can all use CDR backups to test that properly, i.e. once both...

    Translating Grandia

I've had pretty major issues on my Saturn going in and out of Battles and the game engine (controllable part) loading after cut scenes. Basically if you guys are going to Beta test...use an emulator... The main problem here is related to 3 things 1) Good quality image from original media 2)...

    Translating Grandia

Haha - whoops! (FYI, I also prefer the Japanese voices...but there are some parts of the game with ONLY voice over - so it would be cool to have English voices sometimes, even if it's unnecessary)

    Translating Grandia

@TrekkiesUnite118 - thank you again for all your hard work, will try this after work tonight... @retrodadandmodernlad - how did you patch in the English voices, is it simple file replacement from the PSX version? [details if you please good sir :-) ]

    Translating Grandia

Okay, gonna' have to jump on the bandwagon this weekend as I have some spare time - particularly for the hilarity of the above cut scene XD FYI I will be using Ritek Media at 4X, so should have no bother...

    Translating Grandia

First off I'd like to say a HUUUUGE thank you to @TrekkiesUnite118 - truly amazing work there! I own originals of both Grandia and D.M - to think I can finally play these games translated on my JAP Saturn (obviously "when they are done") is amazing stuff! Heh, I was going to suggest a debug...
