    Translating Grandia

@nanash1 I think for the DSP both XL2 and Ponut have tinkered with it. So maybe they can give some advice?

PS1's FMVs are 320x240 as far as I can tell. So lower horizontal, but higher vertical. For some the HD Remaster videos might be usable, but for ones like the opening before the title screen I think the PS1 version will have to do, or just leave the JP Saturn one. The other issue with the HD...

    Translating Grandia

The Saturn FMVs appear to be either 10fps or 12fps. It seems some of the PS1 FMVS are capped at similar frame rates so I don't think there's much to be gained from using the HD Remaster ones unless there's some awful JPEG compression on the PS1 FMVs.

This is really nice to see. For the issue of Subtitles being readable, I'd say we wont really know until we try. If you can get an encoder going we can try different fonts out and see. For what it's worth, we can take a look at the intros as those have credits in them. My thought was we could...

What kind of Psuedo Saturn cartridge? The cheap red ones on ebay tend to be pretty cheap and faulty and cause problems

I believe I have it done, and I've spot checked for crashes and it seems good so far. I just haven't released it yet.

So since people have been asking, I figured I'd post this bit of info that I've sent to nanash and others to see if they can figure out the decompression. I have been able to successfully write a demuxer for the FMVs. This can simply separate the ADX audio from the Video data. The idea being...

Simplest Way to Add Files to Saturn ISO?

CDMage only lets you replace existing files with ones the same size or smaller. You can't add new files as far as I know. The only way to do that is to rebuild the ISO either with mkisofs, or with the official VCDTOOLS from Sega.

If I did that it would be more as a proof of concept. The tools I made though should be enough for someone to get such a project started and going.

The issue in Yaba Sanshiro is because Yaba Sanshiro/Yabause isn't an accurate or good emulator. Sure it's debugging tools are nice, but for playing games it's the worst of the 3 main Saturn emulators. It can barely playback standard cinepak, let alone Grandia's custom format. Your issue on real...

    Translating Grandia

The FMVs are untouched in the current patch. The issue you're describing is due to a bad burn. Either the way it was burned, or the media used.

The only disc 1 results music that plays on disc 2 is the perfect win music. Which that happens when you win the battle without taking any damage.

Good to hear. They said they were putting a fix into their code to clear memory before booting similar to what the BIOS does.

And what I'm saying is that the only time any data is written to that space to cause that garbage to display is when you use the Terraonion MODE on it's latest firmware. People have done full 100% playthroughs of this patch without any mention of this issue. Finally, I have not touched anything...

    Translating Grandia

I'm not denying that could be an issue. But I'm saying is that this problem does not happen on real hardware using a real disc, it doesn't happen in Mednafen, SSF, or Yaba Sanshiro. It doesn't happen with the Satiator or the Fenrir. It ONLY happens with the MODE and even then it only happens...

MODE is the Optical Drive Emulator he's using. It replaces the Disc Drive with an SSD/HDD. It's from TerraOnion and they made a firmware update recently. They already reached out to me because they noticed it and in going back and forth they realized the issue is that their new firmware puts...
