    How do I read that?

Sorry for digging out such an old thread, but i didn´t found anything about the .mov format used in Saturn games. Exhumed (aka Powerslave / 1999: Pharaoh no Fukkatsu) is using .mov video files too. Until now i only knew about the following video files: First Generation: Cinepak (.cpk)...

"Crack the SEGA Saturn copy protection" contest

But you have to perform a swap! And for me, when i´m in need to play a cd-r sometimes i play only one game at once, so i have no advantage of the point, that you only have to do swap it once and then no more until you turn off the machine...

"Crack the SEGA Saturn copy protection" contest

Yes, maybe the swap trick can be performed easier by using your "boot" disc, but as i said in my first post in this thread: A real boot cd would be inserted and cheating the Saturn that you don´t have to swap. Just insert the CD-R after the boot cd cheated Saturn´s copy protection method...

"Crack the SEGA Saturn copy protection" contest

Ok. And this is exactly the way everybody can perform the swap trick without any "boot" cd - i just need an original cd and i can play backups too... So what is your advantage in comparison to the usual swap trick...??? If i perform the swap trick with a CD-R and an original Saturn game i can...

"Crack the SEGA Saturn copy protection" contest

Sorry, i don´t understand what you mean. You are saying that you have a disc (boot disc?) which you put in the Saturn once before you want to use a CD-R game and swapping when the laser wants to read the security ring!? IMO this is the same thing as putting in an original CD and performing...

"Crack the SEGA Saturn copy protection" contest

There were many good starts in cracking the protection, but it was never been finished because of lack of interest or lack of professional people. Breaking the protection isn´t only advantageous for gamers, that they don´t have to buy a modboard (as long as they are still available) or to...
