I never even knew there was a PS1 version of Initial D, until I caught some YouTube videos of it. I've tried the Saturn version years ago and for some reason outside of draw distance, the driving controls just felt way loose to me. I would throw my vote in for the PS1 version.

Checking the properties of it, it's about 469 MB (492,440,592 bytes). Later on I'll try seeing if I can get past the Bloodlines intro via emulation, then later see if it loads up on official hardware.
