    Editing colour pallettes

I have started a new project in Eidolon´s Inn: Colour Hacking Zone By the way, Kaneda, please change the colour values, not in the emulator but in the window of the CPU/DEBUG/VDP.

    Editing colour pallettes

If you do not change contrast to 90 in Gens you get brighter colours than the real ones (e.g. 248,255,248 instead of 224,224,224). In debug/VDP you can see all the pallettes and tiles, if you take a screenshot and you look at all those colours they are still brighter than they should (even...

    Editing colour pallettes

I was able to do it :banana . It was as easy as changing "0EEE" to "0ECC" in a hex editor. The real problem was to find the ofsets where the colour values were stored. You only have to take an screenshot with an emulator and write four or five colours (in the Megadrive format) of a sprite...

    Editing colour pallettes

I am afraid I don´t know enough things to do what I want. The pallettes may be compressed and then it is harder than simply changing "0CCC" to "0CCE". Anyway, thanks for your replies :cheers .

    Editing colour pallettes

I have tried several games and I got things like "VRAM of 3 bytes from FFF908 to 0024 CRAM", but this talks about the video memory and not the rom, isn´t it? I need to know the place in the rom where the colour values are stored. Some guys are doing something similar with NHL94 but they only...

    Editing colour pallettes

Several Genny games have horrible colours that I would like to change. I am using Gens Kmod to extract a bin with the cram and then I try to find the values in the rom with Hexpose. I can´t find where the colour pallettes are... Could someone help me?

    Ex-Ranza / Ranger X questions

Ii´s curious but I have seen much more SNES games with less than 100 colours than with more than 200 colours. A lot of games used a gradient so the image look with more colours (but I don´t know if it´s like the Amiga gradient).

    Ex-Ranza / Ranger X questions

Toy Story has static screens with more than 100 colours, it even has one with 165 colours at once.

    Landscape-dev

I would prefer something like www.fvdev.net, www.genesisdev.com, www.gedew.com (GEnesis DEv World) or www.megadevzone.com (MegaDrive, Mega CD and Mega 32X dev). The first name is good if your site is not going to change while the others would be great if your site becomes a center of Genesis...

    Fusion vs. Gens

I use Fusion to play games (test the music of these games in Gens and in Fusion: FlashBack, Shaq Fu, Mickey´s Ultimate Challenge... the horrible beeping is out) and GensKmod to see the graphic planes, colours... to check if a game uses Shadow and Highlight modes etc.

    Final Fight CD

It is a very good port with an improved soundtrack, better intro and a new game mode (Time attack). It has not as many colours on screen as the arcade (those life metters...) but it is a very fun game, specially in 2 players mode.

    Strider

It is a great port even having much less memory than the arcade game and of course than Genesis is weaker than CPS1. Sega did a great port.

    Last Bronx, PC version

But I do not have a Saturn, that is why I have several Sega PC games such as Last Bronx, Panzer Dragoon and House of the Dead. Playing those games in a PC with a 14" monitor is not as good as playing them with a Saturn in a big tv screen ;) .

Question regarding sega mega cd converter

Convscd works better (in theory) than Scdconv in Japanese to American conversions (but it has a bug and it is bad in American to European and Japanese to European). I tried Scdconv with Keio´s Flying Squadron(U) to get an European version but it doesn´t work and according to the compatibility...
