    A Quickie Guys...

Hehe, Landstalker is my fav game, and I own the JAP and USA versions, because it was cheaper to get them from the international eBays than buy the rarer euro ones in australia But as for Time Gal, wasn't that one of the common games here that was released with the SCD toward its end?

    What is this cable for?

Thanks for that. I opened up the DIN to see whether I may be able to use it on my mega drive one, and lo, the black RCA corresponds to composite video and red to the mono. So it wasn't a waste of money after all

    What is this cable for?

In a second hand shop today I bought one of these for fifty cents australian, thought I might be able to use it with my mega drive. There is one 5-pin DIN connected to four RCA plugs, coloured red, yellow, black and white. I'm assuming that two of them are for audio, and perhaps one for video...

    Genesis eprom carts

...and if they are, does anyone know how to make one? Sorry if this is a common question, but I see people talking about SMS ones all the time.

    Forgot to convert to WAV

OK, so I don't actually need MP3->WAV when using CDRWin? Or are there other advantages?

    Forgot to convert to WAV

I just burned a couple of games without converting the MP3s to WAV. Did CDRWin just convert them itself when it was burning? I've usually used MP3->WAV. What's going on? It couldn't have just copied the MP3s across right? or the MegaCD wouldn't run them.

    RAM carts vs save carts

Is there a RAM or save cart that is double ended so that you can put the other on top? What is done if you want to use some extra ram, AND save the game on a memory cart?

    Thanks all for that :)

    Lik Seng and others

What are some other sites that have similar "retro" stock to lik seng? Asian ones are good because they aren't as expensive as american ones, considering the Oz dollar is worth half of the $US.

    Action Reply 4/5 in 1

Peace falstaff, I read everything on the misc section before asking my question :) In regards to giving the CD's a boost spin - it was something I was doing when I spent an hour trying to get my first CD-R going. It took me that long to realise that the problem was simply that I'd forgotten to...

    Action Reply 4/5 in 1

I know that the carts' main functions are to supply cheats (why bother?) and to play import games, as well as provide 4meg backup, but do they play backup CD-Rs? I've got a 20-pin saturn and I'm just concerned that I'll stuff the drive with the swap trick. So, does this cart (or any other) play...

    Saturn Action-RPGs

Thanks for that. I like the sound of those but I'm really looking for the Zelda style games.

    Saturn Action-RPGs

I'm trying to get a list of Action-RPGs on the saturn (ie. real-time fighting and not turn-based battles used in FFVII, Lunar etc.) I've only found four so far: Dark Savior Magic Knight Rayearth Legend of Oasis Shining Wisdom Any others?

    Burning issues

ISO/MP3 (converted to WAV using mp32wav). I'm using CDRWin, and I can't see how to choose between disk or track at once. So I tried in Nero, and after I select the cue file I see that it has "Disk at once" selected but greyed out so that it can't be changed.

    Saturn price suggestion

There is no market where I live for Saturn merchandise, that's what makes it hard to get bona fide games. I will buy games from Asia if they are PAL compatible because frankly I prefer a boxed original. I had no idea they were still for sale anywhere. Would somebody like to point me in the...

    Saturn price suggestion

Trenton Net: I don't know where you live, but in Australia, particularly in Tasmania (small island state where I live) only a handful of games were released. Same with the Mega CD. I paid $800 for a Mega CD when it first came out and it's the worst mistake I ever made. It's the worst mistake...

    Burning issues

Has anyone else had problems with Lunar TSS from Blaspheme's FTP? For me it will get to the startup logo before freezing. I have a PAL mega drive, but a CDX converter so it should be OK without using SCDconv. Thanks.

    Genesis video pinout

The standard 8-pin DIN that you buy at any electronics shop has the pins too close together for the mega drive 1. They have to be severly bent and forced into the unit. Any thoughts? Does sega have a specialised 8-pin connection?

    Saturn price suggestion

Thanks, I bought it before I saw all of your replies, but I paid fifty bucks, we both thought it was a pretty good price. I don't care about the games, I'll download the ones I want. :)
