Another Dual Track Burning Q

Ok so I am about to burn Game Paradise and as you know it is a dual mode/track game...

I have read the sticky about dual track games but take a look at this...

The .cue file that came with the rip, the cue sheet reads as follows...

FILE "Game Paradise T01 Mode1 2048.iso" BINARY

TRACK 01 MODE1/2048

INDEX 01 00:00:00

POSTGAP 00:02:00

FILE "Game Paradise T02 Mode2 2352.iso" BINARY

TRACK 02 MODE2/2352

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Game Paradise T03 Audio 2352.mp3" MP3

TRACK 03 AUDIO

PREGAP 00:02:00

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Game Paradise T04 Audio 2352.mp3" MP3

TRACK 04 AUDIO

PREGAP 00:02:00

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Game Paradise T05 Audio 2352.mp3" MP3

TRACK 05 AUDIO

PREGAP 00:02:00

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Game Paradise T06 Audio 2352.mp3" MP3

TRACK 06 AUDIO

PREGAP 00:02:00

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Game Paradise T07 Audio 2352.mp3" MP3

TRACK 07 AUDIO

PREGAP 00:02:00

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Game Paradise T08 Audio 2352.mp3" MP3

Yet Mal posted a universal dual track .cue and it reads like this..

FILE track_01.ISO BINARY

TRACK 01 MODE1/2048

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE track_02.ISO BINARY

TRACK 02 MODE2/2336

PREGAP 00:03:00

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE track_03.WAV WAVE

TRACK 03 AUDIO

PREGAP 00:02:00

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE track_04.WAV WAVE

TRACK 04 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE track_05.WAV WAVE

TRACK 05 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

and so on for more audio tracks...

Notice how on the rip .cue there is a PREGAP for 00:02:00 for every audio track, and on Mal's it just has one PREGRAP for 00:02:00 on the very first audio track..

Which should I use? I don't feel like being Rambo today, since I am running low on CD-R's and don't want to make a coaster.

Well hmm This is what I came out with using Mal's universal dual track cue

FILE "Game Paradise T01 Mode1 2048.iso" BINARY

FILE "Game Paradise T02 Mode2 2352.iso" BINARY

FILE "002_Game Paradise T04 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

FILE "003_Game Paradise T05 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

TRACK 05 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "004_Game Paradise T06 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

TRACK 06 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "005_Game Paradise T07 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

TRACK 07 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "006_Game Paradise T08 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

TRACK 08 AUDIO

FILE "007_Game Paradise T09 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

TRACK 09 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "008_Game Paradise T10 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

TRACK 10 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "009_Game Paradise T11 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

TRACK 11 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "010_Game Paradise T12 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

TRACK 12 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

Yet I get this error in CDRWIN..

"Error: Invalid CUE SHEET command at line 8

WAVE File is invalid or not CDROM compatible"

All of my wav files are fine.. Don't know what is up. :huh

Also note that my second iso track is 2352 and not 2336 like Mal's cue sheet.

I didn't know I'd written a 'universal dual track cuesheet'.

Are the wav files 16 bit, 44.1KHz? I'm just wondering what could make them "not CDROM compatible".

Yes you have

Jaded God: As mal said, maybe your wav files are not at the cdda standard. 16bit 44khz, are you pre-converting mp3->wav? You could use the original format used in that rip. cdrwin handles MP3 files directly

Hmm well here is the thing guys... I always convert my mp3's >>to>> wav before burning games.

I have never, ever had a problem with that... I use Winamp and have been for years. Nero would work just fine this way <_<

Anyways I took a look at one of my wavs and this is what I get

"001_Gradius Deluxe T02 Audio 2352"

Bit Rate: 705kbps

Audio sample size: 16 bit

Channels: 2 (stereo)

Audio sample rate: 22 kHz

Audio format: PCM

That is odd... Audio sample rate = 22kHz... Why is this??? That is for Gradius Deluxe which I am also having the same errors, and I just checked Game Paradise wav's and they are the exact same info on them. :huh

Well I checked the original mp3 files and they are in 22kHz to begin with!!!
sleep.gif
' So what should I do??? So it is obviously not the greatest rip I got. :huh

Yea but I don't want to have to do this.. What is up?? Do I have bad rips since they arent 44kHz.. I dont want to always have to do this.

Well I know I have burned heaps of saturn games with NERO and I know I probably have had these same audio rips with 22kHz instead of 44kHz... So does NERO just ignore the error???

It's NOT an error...

What happens is that CDDA tracks have to be in 16bit 44.1khz..

Probably nero always converts the mp3's to 44.1khz without prompt.

CDRWin doesn't...

no no no... Please listen Barracuda before you reply lol

I ALWAYS CONVERT MP3 TO WAV BEFORE BURNING SATURN GAMES...

So when I used NERO they were WAV already hence no converting is happening...

And I meant ERROR because CDRWIN calls it an error...

Also does CDRWIN allow you to just use mp3s.. does it convert to wav like nero would? You said something above about that.. But I DONT think it does. :huh

lol, okee i misunderstood you
smile.gif

probably nero even re-converts wav files.. to the correct sample rate..

And yes, cdrwin converts MP3 on-the-fly, but it doesn't convert sample rates to 44khz..

from cdrwin's help:

Note: For audio discs, you can load either WAVE, AIFF, or MP3 files into the list. MP3 files will be automatically decoded during recording, so there is no need to decode them beforehand.

Ok I converted everything to 44100 kHz *44kHz* and the cuesheet loads up fine in CDRWIN but then when I hit record I get this...

error.gif

Cuesheet rejected?
huh.gif

There *only* one thing left...

ISO2RAW

Use this program to convert the first datatrack which is at mode1 2048 to mode1 2352, this way all the track will have the same sector size.

Correct the cuesheet so that track1 is loaded in mode1/2352 and give it a try...
