Game will not load after Title Screen

Hi, I have a Sega CDX and I just burned a game about a week ago: Lunar The Silver Star. I put it into my Sega CDX and it doesn't load past the title screen. What can I do? I know the CD-R works though, because I played it on my computer using Gens and I know my CDX works because I have other games that work just fine. This was my first burn of a Sega CD game so maybe I did something wrong. Anyway, can someone please help me?????

1) Did you play the burned CD through Gens, or the ISO?

2) What burning program did you use?

3) How was the iso packaged? (ISO/MP3 or BIN/CUE)

Chances are he forgot the audio tracks. Burn the ISO disc image as track one, and tack on all the audio tracks as tracks 2-xx. Also, try some other Sega CD, as the CDX is missing a few things that break compatibility. Of course, I could be confusing it with the PBC.

1. I am assuming you mean did I play the game in Gens through the CD or the ISO and the answer would be the CD.

2. I used CDRWIN.

3. It was packaged ISO/MP3, but i converted the MP3 files into WAV and made a cue sheet with which I don't think there are any problems.

On the CDX, have you tried playing the audio tracks? or through Gens? Maybe they didn't burn right, or a 2 second gap is needed/not needed. Post the lengths of the CD audio tracks, and we probably will find all the errors in them.

This is the whole Cue Sheet: If you can find something, by all means do.

also, on the cdx things there is the small screen that shows a number it keeps going from 2 to 3 to 2 to 3 and so forth if this helps any, but remember other games work.

Which Lunar is it that needs to be burnt TAO? ???

I'm pretty sure they both need to be burnt Track-At-Once.

The worst that will happen is that you burn another coaster...

I have downloaded the program and am going to try to burn the game again using track at once and will say if it does or doesn't work....thanks for helping either way...

now i am both angry and give up....

I downloaded the ezcdpro and it got rid of my aspi driver so I had to download them again, after that I got the program working, I burned the cd, nothing, not even my computer recognizes the burned cd, then I decided, screw it I'm gonna try something. SO i got a hacked copy of Nero, loaded the cue sheet, burned that in track-at-once, didn't work, then disc-at-once, again nothing, so count it now 5 cds in total of which 1 does nothing and the other four can't be read on the cdx, so what I'm thinking is i should just see how deep my wallet really is and see if I can buy the game at an auction website, cause I GIVE UP unless someone can honest to god help me, maybe im using a bad brand of cdrs, or I don't know something else. ANYWAY, here is what I want, I would like to know what other people use to burn their games, from the burner program, the cdrw drive setting, the cdr brand, anything no matter how insignificant, just to see what I did wrong. I have burned so many psx games, I thought sega cd would be a breeze, but I didn't even have close to this many problems the first time I burned a psx game.

I highly agree, Sega CD is a piece of shit... Sorry but I have come to realize it is nothing. IT has wayy too many problems for burning things... Anyways I burn most Sega CD games just fine... and I can tell you use Winamp to convert the WAVs as do I... I have the same problem with Lunar: Silver Star Story... And I have had both bin and cue and iso/mp3 formats and they both just go black after the title screen and nothing loads...Other games burn fine... I would just buy that game and stay clear from the burns of it... Eternal Blue works just fine though.. thats what pisses me off, because we all know Silver Star Story is way better than Eternal Blue *Storyline CouGh CouGH:*..

Let me get this right. The SegaCD is shit because you can't get your warez to work? (More specifically, one particular game.) Aren't we lucky you got your modchip to work or we'd have to suffer the Saturn also being shit.

man antime your a real fucking asshole... and no saturn wouldnt suck because of a modchip... Saturn is a great system.. I am not fond of Sega CD its IMO so why dont you go take your pompous ass somewhere else then just flamming all the time.

Could it be that the ISO track itself is corrupt/incomplete, and consequently, that files within the ISO9660 filesystem are missing???

But nobody thinks of that, do they? It would be so simple to let CDMage load the ISO track and check all the files within it...

Plus, I have to agree with antime on his post....

If I remember correctly, CDmage is available here, otherwise a Google search should get you there quickly.

It's a tool to examine, verify and extract CD image files of all kinds. CDmage supports bin, iso, trk, cue sheets, Nero and DJ (.cdi) files, and many others.

And OF COURSE it works

But whether it will be able to fix your 'suspect' disc image is another matter.

I got CDmage, but it keeps giving me a damn error about the cue sheet, yet it works just fine in cdrwin and nero. I don't remember the exacat error and I can't look right now as I am currently in school and well probably shouldn't be posting, but maybe when I get home someone will have some answers or questions for me....
