International Qube release imminent?

Sounds interesting.. It'd be nice if more stuff like that came out outside of Japan. I'll be getting a Gamecube in a few months so I'd like to hear more about this. I guess the big factor will be the price, since standard GC's are so cheap in comparison with the other systems around.

I would expect the Qube to retail for the same as or slightly more than the PS2 or XBox...

The reason for the GC's lower price is due to not having to pay for the DVD license. Microsoft has avoided that too by stripping out of the box DVD functionality from the XBox.

I've not really heard anything about the GameQube's DVD playback quality.. If it is a better DVD proposition than the PS2 and the Xbox at the moment that (along with it's limited nature) might account for the hefty price. Maybe if they were mass-produced in the way we're speculating they'd have to/want to use cheaper components or something.. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
