I played that for a short while a week or so ago; IIRC you get an insane boost if you start a Special combo with the girl who normally stops you.

how do you do that?

I think it's activated when you light up all 4 boxes in the SPECIAL bar.

ExCyber, did the Special combo look like the Raging Demon where the screen goes blank, shows some flashing lights, and ends with the kanji character shown below?
