MVS to Atomiswave?

How hard would it be to stick an atomiswave unit in an mvs cab?

Would I have to change the controls or can I keep them the same?

Is the monitor compatible with the newer atomiswave system?

What would I have to purchase to make this thing work on it?

The MVS standard is not exactly JAMMA, but close. It has an extra couple of buttons and stuff. Atomiswave calls for 5 buttons by default IIIRC. Basically you'd probably have to customize/rewire the harness abit. Atomiswave also uses a 31khz display by default I believe, so you would need a new monitor to get the best out of it, but I'm pretty sure it also has a 15khz compatibility mode.

AFAIK you'd just need to buy the base Atomiswave system and whatever carts you want to play. I believe that both systems are JAMMA based so everything should just plug straight up.

[edit] it290 is right. It seems you'd need to make a minor modification to accomodate the 5th button in both the control panel and the harness.

There is a dipswitch to switch between 15kHz and 31kHz output.
