Access/Power LED?

I found yet another white japanese model...this one has been modded to use the power LED as the CD access LED. Trouble is, the reset button isn't working.


I've looked every for this mod but the system came from Hong Kong and I don't have a clue what the chinese mod sites are telling me.


It's pretty simple, a trace has been cut under the conrol pad pcb and a jumper ran from the accesss LED side to the power LED lead, but I'm wondering if the reset switch was damaged or just sacrificed to do this mod.


Any clues?

It shouldn't have been necessary to sacrifice the reset switch, though I suppose it could have been accidentally damaged during the mod process. I haven't attempted the mod in several years, but I don't recall it being all that intensive...
