Can I hack a Saturn RF unit with an A/V cable?

Here's what I want to do: take the Saturn RF cable, and chop it off leaving only the male end that goes into the rear of my Saturn. Then, take a standard A/V cable (red, yellow, white), chop off one end, and wire the leads from that into the three pins' leads on the end that goes into the Saturn..get it?

Are the pinouts the same for the Saturn A/V cable and the RF cable? I think the RF cable has three wires inside, and they don't combine until they hit the actual RF switch. If that's the case, I should be able to connect them up...eh?

Any help is appreciated.

Yep you can do this with no problems.

The only thing is that audio is only mono (you have Comp. video, audio, plus a shared ground).

Have fun.

There's also 5v running down one of the wires.

Looking into the plug you'll see three pins.

The top one is composite video.

The middle one is 5V.

The bottom one is audio (left or mono).

The ring is common.

Well, thanks for the replies. I attempted to hack the wires, only with poor results. In the process, I've wrecked my RF unit, so I've ordered a third-party stereo A/V cable from the Web. I'm Saturn-less for about a week!
