Model 2 - 64-pin Installation

I've been doing my homework before installing a modchip (ordered from RocketBoy) on my Saturn model 2, 64-pin.

What's confusing me is that I've seen two different instructions. In one case, the modchip is hacked up with small guage wire. In the other guide, it appears that it's as simple as this A+B mod connected to pin 8 of the 64-pin IC.

Before I go testing, is this the correct installation for this modchip:

Any other gotcha's that I should be aware of ahead of time?

I used the A+B method for my model 2 64 pin and it worked perfectly, although I think the manufactures advice is to solder all those fiddly bits of wire on it for a more reliable mod. If the A+B method doesnt work you can easily de-solder it and go the fiddly route

What do you mean hacked up? As far as I've seen mod chips either use a single wire to power or a wire to power and a wire to the sync or whatever on the board.

In any case, I have encountered a 64pin saturn that wouldn't work with modchips when the A+B method is used, but only once. Easiest thing to do is like the person above said, try the A+B method and if that's a no go, desolder it and do the mod the way you're 'supposed' to do it. Good luck!
