Sega CDX power adapter

I just made an irritating discovery: the power adapter I've been using with my CDX unit isn't supposed to go with it.

The CDX is rated at 9.5V, 1.5A

The output from the plug I was using is 10V, 0.85A. I think that the plug I have is meant to go with a Genesis Mk II console. I never realized that there was a difference (my bad, I never read the "fine print" on the parts before.)

So far, I've used the "wrong" plug on and off for a couple of years and the console worked without any real problems that I ever noticed. It may be that since the voltage of the DC output is higher, this somehow compensates for the lower current.

I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me if I'm actually doing damage to my unit and never knew it. I'm thinking of ordering a replacement from Sega-Parts.com or from anyone that might have one if it's actually that important. (You know, what with the CDX unit I have being one of only 5000 made. Its serial number is something like 002143)
