    Psy-Q Saturn cartridge

Ignore dj898. You don't need the modified Saturn at all. Only if you want to use the Mirage will you need that, and I doubt you have one. It was missing the manuals and software, so if you have access to them it is worth it. Otherwise, just go for an AR and comm card.

"Crack the SEGA Saturn copy protection" contest

I wasn't talking about the blanks. I meant it is pointless everyone wanting an ISO of the boot CD. It seems noone is able to grasp that simple premise, though - good luck getting this project completed!! They turn up on Yahoo Japan. As a Saturn collector, I think it is sad that something...

"Crack the SEGA Saturn copy protection" contest

Nah, they're only $20 sealed on YJ, if that. Mr Saturn was right, BTW - copying the boot CD is pointless. You still have to use the swap trick, only now you're adding an extra bit to the equation. You don't gain anything. Yes, it allows you to insert a CD. Still, you could have just done...

"Crack the SEGA Saturn copy protection" contest

Hi Ricky, that's not a Virtual CD board. The Mirage is a replacement for the Virtual CD board. That is just an interface inside a Cross Saturn. The Virtual CD board was made by JVC and is an ISA card. Mine is buried under a load of boxes so I can't photograph it, unfortunately.

"Crack the SEGA Saturn copy protection" contest

ARGH! NO NO NO! The Saturn dev manual says that you need the VCD card, yes. That would be the VIRTUAL CD card, not the video CD card. It is an ISA card that goes in a PC and emulates the CD drive, basically what the Mirage does. Why is anyone bothering to copy the Saturn Boot CDs? Here is...

    Return Fire?

You may have the permission of the developer, but you don't have the permission of Sega. Try and release a game without their permission, and trying to get around their copyright protection, and you'll be sued. :( Yes there are files too. Its quite complex really, very clever. Still, the...
