DEv Kits For genny

i got one for the 32X but i sold it....

the dev kits for MD are hard to find...i don't know why but it seems there are more chance to find one on the UK (the PSY-Q one)

and more and more hard with the software!!! how many times did i see someone looking for segaloader and other psyq stuff!?

you can find some info on them on the Sega Programming FAQ and some pics on my site...

what are you looking for ? a dev kit for your collection or a dev kit to dev on the Genny ?

for the second answer, you can do what you want without an official dev kit...use a backup device or the Tototek flash cart!

you'll find a lot of docs and software around the net to dev

Reason i ask is that i have the psy-q system with software and doc's. Im looking for some one to guide me in to the dev world. Ive never done programming before.

Also from a collecting point of view i am also looking for a sega made dev kit

do you have any docs or soft about the music/sound part on the Genny ?

it's perhaps actually the most obscur part

if you have the psyq then you'll need to code in asm...

look for tutorials on 68000 asm

for info on the genny dev itself, look on my site (and on the links on my site)

and be free to ask any question here!

The genny software dev manual? no it appears different to the sega2.doc(i think im new to all this!!)

I know both came stright from Psygnosis, the dev manual is a photocopy(working copy?) but shows a stamped serial no. the Psy-Q guide comes in nice binder and is orginal. I also have the orginal Scsi card for the Q system.

oh! i see which PSYQ you're talking about :)

the beautiful binder ;)

if you have pb, ask here! :)

ps: and be free to share your doc with everyone

do you have the demos with your psyq dev kit ?

there is a sample with music (or is it with the other kit i know ?)

Just to make it clear what i have

1 Psy-Q Programmers guide (nice folder)

2 Genesis Software Guide (and supplement)

3 Genesis Sound Manual

4 YM2612 Application Manual

5 PSG Manual

6 Floppy of Psq Software

ARGGGGGg!!! :bow

i'll kill for this!!

and as i said, i know some people who can kill for your floppy ;)

do you think it's possible to scan it ? or even better PDF it ?

it could be a cool thing to PDF all your doc and share them (i can put them on my site if needed)

i perhaps ask a lot, sorry if so...

all i can do is help you on Genny dev...or ask some people about problem you may have with you psyq

about the hard, is you SCSI card different of the Saturn one (scroll down) ?

if you can scan it, i'll pdf it...no problem...

welcome in the dev world!!

contact me when you have some "hello world" tests roms :)

Those sound documents will help a lot to genesis dev. Considering that you have to know a lot to make good sound with a fm chip it is essential to have a lot of information. I read some time ago that Jesper Kyd (music of Pro Moves Soccer, Subterrania, Red Zone and Batman and Robin) programmed an alternative sound driver that omits samples but produces high quality fm sound. Maybe, someone could ask him something about that.

in fact my problem is more on writing FM patches...

i already have the music driver ready but my patches are bad... :(

(look at the end of my ooga booga demo..it's ugly!!)

not urgently....

+2years i'm on Music side :damn:

so some weeks or months more won't kill me :bounce

and perhaps these docs won't help me...
