Dev'ing with Eclipse ?

KPIT GNU Eclipse IDE v1.0.0 - Released - 22-04-09 19:08 [Announcement]


* First version (v1.0.0) of free KPIT GNU Eclipse, an Eclipse-based IDE for the users of Renesas (formerly Hitachi and Mitsubishi) Super-H series of microcontrollers is released.

* KPIT GNU Eclipse v1.0.0 is released for Windows and Linux hosts.

* The KPIT GNUSH v0901 toolchain is integrated with KPIT GNU Eclipse v1.0.0.

* KPIT GNU Eclipse provides a user interface for the build tools (Library Generator, Compiler, Assembler and Linker) of KPIT GNUSH v0901 toolchain.

* GDB simulator/debugger is integrated with KPIT GNU Eclipse v1.0.0.

* Extensive documentation is provided along with the KPIT GNU Eclipse IDE as a part of help.

I've seen that some weeks ago but I've never used Eclipse to do some C/C++ (just Java in fact). Do you think it would be worth to switch to this Eclipse dev environment ?

It might open up some interesting possibilities, but I don't know that there's an immediately compelling advantage to it unless you're already an experienced Eclipse user and want to take advantage of that.
