Dracula X audio

Borisz

Ban Hammered
After a few hours of messing with them, I found out that the audio is 4bit, stereo, 44,1khz. However, it is either completely headerless or uses some wierd header format - the music has something like DVI in it as the first few bytes, I suppose it uses DVI/IMA ADPCM which Cool Edit can supposedly open, however I don't have that util at hand so I can't check.

Any suggestions?

I attached some small notes I made when I attempted to reverse engineer the format. I'm pretty sure you're right on the adpcm assumption, but considering how many varieties of adpcm there are, who knows exactly which one they're using. It wouldn't shock me though if it's either DK3 or DK4 given how konami loves the duck truemotion codec.

Yeah, after messing around comparing files I noticed that it looks a lot like IMA ADPCM and Duck 4bit. I actually managed to open them in Goldwave using Vox ADPCM telephony, but it sounded shit (like if it would be played by an old phone, but it did play - only at 22khz mono though).
