DS Backwards Compatibility News

The DS will be backwards compatible with GBA games only in 1 player mode. Thats right, no multiplayer in any of your older GBA games. Also it will not be able to play your old old GB and GBC games.

Thats kind of a downer... for the multiplayer... as for me, I love single player... so no complaints here!

Okay... That sucks. I wanted to be able to play ALL my Gameboy games on it. Many of my favorites were for the first version of GB. Now I'm having second thoughts about buying the DS new right when it comes out, I may just wait until I can pick up a used one for $80 or so.

Of course, who wants to bet that someone will come up with a hardware mod that will allow the DS to play OGB and GBC games?

It's probably well within the power of Datel or Blaze to do something about this in the form of a cartridge adapter housing an emulator ROM...
