Final Fantasy Origins of PSX - Non Nintendo quesion

Is anyone else irritated by Squares decision to Not include FF3 in origins. Living in the US, the only way to play 2 or 3 was through hacked roms. We finally get 2, but still no 3. Whats up with that?

I hope so. I don't even care what system they put it out on. We didn't 2,3, or 5 when they were released. Its nice that we have gotten at least 2/3 of thoughs.

I think it was very dumb of them to include ff1 instead of ff3, cause we did get ff1 here. Its just like what happened with ff anthologies, they left out one ff game, and then later on down the line they decided to make an entire new package with the ff title (ff chronicles), but sense they had only one ff to fill it with they stuck chrono trigger in as well.

Ive lost alot of respect for square sense the ps2 came out. They seam to have lost the idea that they can make games without the title Final Fantasy. The games they do come out with are good, but they are all, with very few exceptions these days, non-ff. The day will come when that franchise becomes so used and stale that square will be forced to try making new franchises. I look forward to that day.

I would go as far as saying post Nintendo, Square has lost "It". FF VII and FF IX were both good games. And FF Tactics was original and fun. But I they really haven't had many non-FF games that were even decent.

And the "Collection" sets are so irritating. It would have made sense to to FF I-III and FF IV-VI in sets. But instead we get 3 sets and still we are missing one game.

If the Square-Enix merger manages to go through, maybe then things will improve.

Slightly off topic, but only slightly...

Do you think that FF:CC might be a breath of fresh air that Square/FF need?

I must admit that I'm very interested to see how it turns out.

With Square, I always hope. Even though I am way frustrated with them, I keep hoping that each new realse freshens the company up. I am personally excited about the GC game. I looks to be in the vain of old school, but with modern gfx. Kind of like FF IX.
