NEC reportedly approached by Nintendo to construct a new chip for Nintendo's next system.
According to a Bloomberg report, Nintendo has been in talks with NEC to build a new chip that would power the successor to Nintendo's GameCube and compete with next-generation systems from Sony and Microsoft. While NEC executives who have not been identified have said that talks are taking place, Nintendo denies that any such discussions have occurred. We'll have details more as they become available.
