read an externall laptop hardrive

THeres a couple things i want to do with this

1 is

i have a bad arcade game laptop harddrive and would like to scan disk it to fix errors .

I want to hook it up to my latop and read it like any other drive .

Any ideas ?

If your laptop can boot from CD you can always create a bootable CD with all the tools on it you want.

Also if you shop around enough you can find a laptop to desktop adapter that lets you use a laptop harddrive in a desktop.

There's a similar USB device available. I can't think of the name at the moment.
