Recording Live TV

I am ditching my crappy cable DVR. At times, I would like to record 2 shows at the same time. And using 2 VCR's is not very practical. Plus, sometimes I want to keep a program.

I'd go for a Media Centre PC.

I've got one with dual digital tuners and it's just awesome.

Sure do.

I initially tried myHTPC (Meedio's predecessor), but got over the complicated installation.

Come to think of it, I think I still have an unused licence for Meedio somewhere...

I use microsofts media center myself. It is indeed very handy. I wish it could encode the videos, but that doesn't matter a whole hell of a lot to my anyway. You can also try MediaPortal.

I use FOUR VCR's... (Not that they all tape at the same time... They just can only be programmed for so many times, and I like at least one to be free at all times so I can watch what I taped other nights.)

I use DVD Recorder. It can record about 5 hours with very good quallity. There are some DVD Recorder/VCR that are dual tuner's so if you want to record something in VHS and DVD at the same time.
