Replace Genesis rom?

This may be impossible, but I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to desolder the ROM chip from one game and switch it for the ROM from another game?

Here is my problem:

I got a copy of Zombies ate my Neighbors at a yard sale, which does not work. After opening the game, I found that the pins that connect to the Genesis are in pretty bad condition, so I tried putting a little solder on the top of the pins to try and get a better connection (I did take off a little bit of the green insulation so that I could connect the pins to the copper traces.) The game still does not work. Is there any chance that I can remove the Zombies ate my Neighbors chip and put it in another cartridge?

I hope that makes sense

Yes, it can be done. I don't think there's any way to tell whether the host cartridge would be directly compatible without opening it up (of course, as long as it has all of the edge contacts it's always possible to cut traces / solder jumper wires to get the desired result).
