As a side note I unloaded that k6-3+ for a favorable sum and some extra dinero to spend. But that's a side note.
I was looking into getting a somewhat cheap gaming rig set up, and found a decent price for an AMD Athlon 800Mhz w/ Abit KA7 board. However it's a slot A.
SO, the question I pose to you: what is the performance difference between slot and socket a? Holding all things equal (PC100 SDRAM, ATi Radeon 64MB DDR, etc.) what kind of performance increase/decrease should I be expecting?
As a measure of comparison, I was considering the ECS K7S5A + 800Mhz Athlon (KT266A is way out of my range, so it's moot).
Thanks for all help in advance.
