Shining Force CD (USA) (5R, 6R) - Undub patch by KoolFiller
Original patching scripts by Derek Pascarella (ateam)
Tools used to create these patches include CD Replace (by CUE), xdelta (by Josh MacDonald) and xdeltaUI (by KaioShin).
Requires "Shining Force CD (USA) (5R, 6R)" Redump compatible image
Instructions
------------
1. Place the disc image into the "redump_original" folder
3. Run "apply_patch.bat"
4. Your patched game will be in the "patched" folder
This should undub all the voice acting in the game. This includes the intro and the voiceovers after books 1 and 2, and 1 small line from the girl with the book after Book 3. Luckily there are English subtitles for these narrative bits, except for the girl with the book's line. In the US localization she says "The prince became a magnificent king of the peaceful and wealthy kingdom of Cypress". I'm assuming it's something similar in the Japanese version. Speaking of the girl with the book... in the Japanese version I'm pretty sure the narrator's voice is supposed to be her telling the story. But in the US version the narrator's voice is a man's.
Fun fact... it seems the Japanese voices and the English voices were both included on the disc all along, and so swapping the file names undubs the game.
Game tested (not thoroughly) in Retroarch Genesis Plus GX core.
