    GENESIS with Hard disk/cdrom drive

oh...the disc drive...those days :) AFAIK, the disc drive was only an Asian thing where you hooked a modified disc drive and a certain unit into a genesis/mega drive. that unit was a game ripper -- you'd plug in a cartridge on the top and pop in an empty 3.5-inch disc into the disc slot, and...

    Playing imports on a Genesis

I know that because of physical differences you cannot play Mega Drive games on a Genesis while the other way around is feasible. Would it be feasible, however, if I were to plug the import into a Game Genie and plug THAT into the Genesis? BTW, the import does not have region lockout (it's...

    DC Dev kit

I once stumbled across a dreamcast dev kit infosheet on the WWW and I was wondering -- will it play games as well? I know it's not a practical thing for consoles and that with things like boot discs you can play imports on the DC, but having a dev kit would be cool as a collector's item...

Story of Thor -- english version?

...Techno-mart...you lucky bastard... Yeah, the days of the Samsung cart and Samsung games (aladdin boy, anyone?) were cool all right. Too bad those are hard to get cuz they're Korean and not many people know Korean.

    Curse

Has anyone here heard of a horizontal shooter called Curse? It was by Micronet and it was released in 1989 just around when the Mega Drive was released in Japan. Would anyone know where to look for a copy? Even eBay doesn't seem to hvae it.

    Is there a reason...

After reading the thread about panzer dragoon saga, I started wondering, just exactly WHY games like PDS or radiant silvergun always fetch outrageous prices. don't get me wrong, I enjoyed playing both games, but as someone said in the PDS thread, they aren't worth 200 dollars.

Story of Thor -- english version?

Ages ago, I played this one action/adventure game called "Story of Thor" and it was a Korean version translated from Japanese; this was the day when Samsumg had an official license to distribute Sega consoles under the Samsung name. Anyways, my cousin (who had the game) now doesn't have it, and...

    Game save data

Ahh...thanks. And while we're on that, how much savefiles can the Saturn internal memory take before I need a cart of some sort?

    controller question

No, and I don't see why you'd want to either. :) [/b] It was a random thought on a boring day :)

    Game save data

Hi. For some reason, every time I play a game, things like high score or unlocked modes don't save. Do i need the memory cart for the Saturn in order to save my data from games? Or do i need to change the clock battery in it?

    Official bootdisk useful?

my apologies for not reading ahead of mine. Anyways, did anyone notice that the pic posted had the Saturn logo that you'd see on the japanese Saturn? So does that mean that sega's been distributing that particular boot disc to US and JP developers alike or was that just for the japanese and...

    Saturn Console Reliability

I got my Saturn thru ebay, and knowing the kinds of stuff people do in the shipping process, I can vouch for the toughness. Sony systems are indeed fragile -- many that i know of will stop either playing DVDs or CDs, or even both. So yeah, a Saturn is well worth your money. Too bad it never...
