Dude I think it was 1.21 "Jigawatts" that they needed.

So sue me. It's been 5+ years.

Even so, that's even less power. That's amazing.

No, 1,000 kW = 1 MW (1 Megawatt).

So, 1,000 MW = 1 GW.

Still, only ~3 GW? That's not alot for time travel.

wow maybe I'm not the only one that has the BTTF movies memorized

1 KW and 1 KWh are very different things.
smile.gif

1 KWh = the energy used by a device that uses 1 KW (1,000 watts) in one hour. Or, if that device uses, say, 3 kilowatts it spends 1KWh in 20 minutes.

A TV using 115 watts of power costs you 1 KWh of energy after just under 9 hours.

Now y'all go, take that fascinating bit of knowledge and figure out once and for all whether your electric provider really is screwing you over.

Now, can we go back to all your base are belong to us? Please?

Just gimme a fridge and 1.21 jiggz and I'll show you how to time travel.

1 billion (1,000,000,000) watts, i.e. 1 billion joules per second. The watt is used to measure energy consumption (measured in joules) per second.

A fridge with that much power? I'm sure there ARE supercooled semiconductors involved in the tech behind time travel, but that aside, you ought to know one needs a TELEPHONE BOOTH!!! (Ask Bill & Ted!) :smash

ah, that makes alot of sense

Yeah, a telephone booth was a good idea, I have to hand it to Bill & Ted. :agree

But a Delorian could probably handle more raw electricity than a fridge, which is probably why they changed the script.
