CD burning/swapping problems

Here's what I've been using:

Nero/Fireburner/CDRWin burning DAO at 4x

Memorex 80min 48x CDRs

Model 1 Saturn, model# MK-80000, 20 pins (I got stuck with two of these guys no less, when I didn't know anything about Saturn modding)

I've been trying to burn:

Segata Sanshiro Shinkenyugi BIN/CUE. The CUE is at the bottom of the post so as to not get in the way.

Radiant Silvergun ISO/MP3: This I've only tried to burn in Nero as a mixed-mode CD. I could try other stuff but I'm focusing on the Sanshiro game for the moment because bin/cue is easier to work with.

I'm doing the swap trick exactly as I've seen it described from many, many sources. I've also tried the alternate method that was posted here (leave the CDR in until it stops spinning, stick in original, reset, let the Saturn verify, swap to CDR), AND the 5-in-1 cart method in the misc section of this site.

Now the problem here is that when I do the swap trick, no matter how I do it, the Saturn recognizes my disc as an audio CD. I don't get the not-suitable message. It just sends me into the CD player and I can listen to, ironically enough, the "this is not an audio CD" message from there. I found a thread on here about this problem but I wasn't able to get anything out of it that I hadn't already attempted. Anybody have any ideas, or am I screwed?

If the saturn goes straight to cd-player without trying to read the protection ring, means you have a bad burned copy..

and... with all that talking you forgot posting the cuesheet

post it and i'll help you...

Here you go:

FILE "SEGATA.BIN" BINARY

TRACK 01 MODE1/2352

INDEX 01 00:00:00

TRACK 02 MODE2/2352

PREGAP 00:03:00

INDEX 01 29:26:37

TRACK 03 AUDIO

PREGAP 00:02:00

INDEX 01 31:11:10

umm your cue sheet is completely messed up!

It says TRACK 02 MODE2/2352, yet you have no file name before that.. :huh

Is this a dual layered track game?? I can't quite remember if this game is or not.

Here's the cuesheet I'm working with now, made in Sega Cue Maker:

FILE "segata.bin" BINARY

TRACK 01 MODE1/2352

INDEX 01 00:00:00

POSTGAP 00:02:00

The problem was that the package I got has no audio files, just a bin/cue. The cue that I got with it, on the other hand, was written as you saw it posted before. I don't know whether the cue is bad or whether I'm missing something myself.

Well if you are having trouble with BIN&CUE you should convert it to ISO&WAV I recommend WINISO to do this operation or Binchunker.

This cuesheet seems OK to me...

That one you've made with segacuemaker...

IT'S COMPLETELY WRONG

Have you tried loading the first cuesheet on cdrwin?

As I said... looks fine to me..

Jaded: Of course it doesn't have FILE "....." BINARY, after all it's a BIN+CUE rip, the BIN file only has to be declared once. Those cuesheets that declare files for each track are for iso+wav/mp3 rips.

Edit: Sub, what cd burner are you using?

I used Binchunker to get the ISO/WAV files, looked up the thread on burning mutliple ISOs, and changed my original cue to make this cue:

FILE "SEGATA T01 Mode1 2352.iso" BINARY

TRACK 01 MODE1/2352

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "SEGATA T02 Mode2 2352.iso" BINARY

TRACK 02 MODE2/2352

PREGAP 00:03:00

INDEX 01 29:26:37

FILE "SEGATA T03 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

TRACK 03 AUDIO

PREGAP 00:02:00

INDEX 01 31:11:10

CDRWin won't load it though. I'm not sure what's wrong with it.

Edit: I'm using a HP CDWriter Plus on an HP Pavilion. It's not the greatest, but it doesn't give me problems with any of my other game burns.

Edit again: Here's the error:

Error: Invalid CUE SHEET command at line 7

First INDEX of file does not start at 00:00:00

My first index is indeed 00:00:00, so I don't know what's up here.

FILE "SEGATA T01 Mode1 2352.iso" BINARY

TRACK 01 MODE1/2352

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "SEGATA T02 Mode2 2352.iso" BINARY

TRACK 02 MODE2/2352

PREGAP 00:03:00

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "SEGATA T03 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

TRACK 03 AUDIO

PREGAP 00:02:00

INDEX 01 00:00:00

I think this will load up correctly on cdrwin.

But I still don't understand why burning directly from bin+cue doesn't work... hey.. wait a minute. how old is that burner?

The burner's only about three years old. In other news, Silvergun is working just fine, so SOMETHING does work.

The only thing I can think of... is that when you patch that iso in mode1 2352, u mess it up..

try converting to mode1 2048 (with binchunker) and patch that one....
