cross productions saturn

ive been seeing a couple of these crossproductions saturn pop up on ebay and was wondering where i could find the software for them(its never included) id like to pick one up for my collection but cant find much info on the net anyone know anything? :huh

Cross Productin made modified Saturn console for Sega CartDev Rev.B system. It is not normal retail Saturn but modified console geared for development. There is no software as such for Cross modified Saturn but rather CartDev Rev.B full system came with lots of disk, CD-ROM and manuals plus Mirage VCD unit if you opted for its option as well at the time of order... 😛

just let you know getting all the necessary components for full setup won't be easy nor cheap... I'm still short of few softwares as well as no suitable Mac to go with it...

If you get that setup don't bother with VCD Mirage unit as it was mainly designed to emulate CD-R - 'coz back then CD-R burner was very expensive... you will need to get hold of System Disc as modified Dev Saturn still doesn't run CD-R backups... Or you could stick in the chip though remember this is old 1st gen Saturn so getting the right chip would be hard...

have a look at here for the System Disc and here for the Rev.B setup...

thanks for all the info that system disc is gonna be hard to locate but i have fun hunting for stuff i hope i can pick up that unit on ebay cheap as for that vcd unit id like to have one just to make it complete but it would be pointless to use it now since cdrs are like 5 cents a piece now isnt there another version that looks like a pc tower i think its called sofia?

Yes it's called Sophia and there's CartDev Rev.A which is piss of shat. There's 3rd party developmenet system called Psy-Q from Uk as well...

Expect to pay around $150 - 200+ for System Disc if one appears on eBay... 😛

there fair number of people who have wither 1st party or 3rd party system disc or both but don't think anyone will be willing to part with theirs...

p.s. you don't really need those as you can stick in the chip into the Saturn... there's discussion on how to mod 21 pin chip for 20 pin Saturn... and there's UK vendor selling chip for 20/21 pin...
