Meh, I wanted to like this game. I still went through the entire game and romped all over it, but the whole time I was thinking this could be so much more. The end guy was rather descent though, one pain in my ass, I'll say that much.

I also thought that the producers notes of "we didn't translate the audio because it wouldn't feel authentic anymore" was bullshit.

This was definately the first RPG I bought for the dreamcast. The graphics were great, but the gameplay just seemed way too repetitive. It almost felt like I was playing beyond the beyond again, the first RPG I bought for the PS1, which is another very repetitive game. I suppose it could be said about a lot of the RPGs around though.

I wish I could say something else good about it, but I'm stuck for words. Elemental Gimmick Gear was probably my favorite DC RPG, not because it being a superier RPG, or like any other RPG I've played before, but because of the originality of the game itself, and it was not only a damn good game, but a challenge as well.

yeah, I got E.G.G. for 5 bucks back when DC was still a big saler (before PS2). That game kicked ass.

The random generated dungeons in Evolution got pretty old after a while. Agreed on the final boss thouhg. I'm pretty sure I had to back a few saves to get better prepared for that one.

E.G.G. is definately a better game though. My one beef with it was that some of the doorways were very easy to miss because of the perspective and you'd end up stuck with no idea how to continue only to realize that you stupidly didn't see one of the doors.
