Grease!

I bought a new DC and it is a lot more noisy than my first one. I was thinking about using some grease in it but I don't have any idea which kind is good and harmless to its innards. So if someone here already did it to his/her DC I would like to know which one worked better.

from what i remember the first run of Dreamcasts (before Oct. 2000) were noisier than the second (after Oct. 2000). maybe you have an old model?

I'll have to see if it is the case. I forgot to mention that it is a brazilian model so I don't know if this applies to.

But so far it is working nicely. I think I'll just ignore the noise if it stays at the same level as it is now. Thanks!
