Help Modding

Hey guys,, I was trying to mod my 32 pin Jap Saturn today with a Jandaman chip,,,, no success. I dont have a soldering till next weeek so I tried to just looped the blue cable to bridge points A and B on the Mod chip. CD spins but then reads it as a music CD only,, both on originals and copies,, what am I missing,, Is the looping not good enough?, do I just wait to solder together points A & B?. Give me some advise Thanks guys

Take a look at some pics

That sort of Saturn CD board does require you to solder to the 32 pin IC.

For reasons unknown to me, the A+B mod doesn't work on Japanese 32 pin CD boards that don't have a timing crystal on it. At least it didn't work when I tried it, but soldering to the 32 pin IC itself did. Go figure.

Ill try soldering next week,,, and hopefully everything goes well... by the way I checked my other skeleton and its got the same board with no crystal,, may be the last boards never had one... Thanks

I don't know exactly what the pattern is, but AFAIK you only get CD boards without the crystal in Japanese Saturns. My white saturn is like that...

BTW, this isn't to be confused with the Sanyo CD board - that's something different again.

Thanks for the help guys,, I got it modded last night and it worked.. just soldered to the 14th pin and succes!... now 4 some sleepless nights with my Saturn  ..
