I need help with PDS

Ok, first off I'd like to say I beat this game years ago when I borrowed it from a friend. My problem is finding d-unit 5. The last time I played it, I'm pretty sure the only one I went back to get at the end is d-unit 1. I read that 5 is in southern uru near the passageway. There is an item container there but my laser rank is 2 levels too low for it. I'm pretty sure I got it at this point in the game the last time I played it, so is that item container not it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's in there, you've got to come back when your laser rank is four. D Unit(s) 1,5,7 and 8 you all have to come back for later in the game.

Am I too late with this response?
