I think I fried my modem

Sometime last year, I was really stupid and took my DC out of its shell and turned it on and I think it did one of 2 things, either fried my conncetion port where the modem goes or fried the modem. I was wondering how I can tell what damage it did?

Dunno but think of the bright side its not like you were going to give much use to it anyways.
