Jap Mega-CD model 1 won't read cds

Hello, I have japanese mega-cd 1. For some reason or another it can't read any cds: game cds, audio cds, anything just won't run. A friend suggested adjusting the power of the lens as that might be the problem, but I don't know how. Anybody here know how to do this? Thanks.

if it doesn't even recognize ANY cd anymore, chances are the laser unit is fried. if it was just weak, it'd usually find a cd at times or seek like mad.

Ouch! Just got online today and that is sad news indeed.

Is there any way to change the lens of the unit? i mean what type of cd lens would be compatible with my mega-cd?
