Langrisser IV, Langrisser V, etc.

I've finally figured out the size, etc. of the font. So if anyone still had any ideas of working on these games, i've made your life easier.

I had to rewrite tilemod2's 1bpp module so it would read 12x12 tiles instead. Now anyone can read the fonts in the following games: Langrisser I&II(PSX), Langrisser IV(Saturn), and Langrisser V(Saturn). I wouldn't be shocked if the psx version's of Langrisser IV & V use this font size, though since I don't have them(yet), I can't test it.

To check it out, first go to whoever else has tilemod2) and download tilemod2. Then download my module extension at:

and put it in the module subdirectory. Then it's just a matter of editing the module.cfg file, opening the font file (system.dat for both IV&V, and font.dat for I&II), and choosing the module.

mucho thank yous for the module. While I still don't think i'll have the time to make a total translation or anything, I think ill start really playing with langrisser4 in a week or so when my job is over.

Actually i think it was more of someone allready translated the scenarios and put them in a walkthrough like document, and alamone's site just had it for download. I know at one point alamone had a lot of the rom hacking related work done for both langrisser 2 (genesis) and der langrisser. I think he eventually just gave his work to some translators who either finished or became close to finishing for both. I know the people working on der langrisser seemed to changed groups a few times, but i think might be the most recent location of the der langrisser project first started by alamone. Langrisser2 can be found at
