Mega cd burning just aint working

I have just bought a mega cd and I can't get sonic cd to work it runs through gens, I have generate the .cue sheet and it patched it to eu but it wont run i also burned at 4X.

The one thing i think it might be is the region changer as it wont let me change from us to europe as the window closes when i enter option 3.

Please help a frustrated sega fan.

have you tried booting that burned cd-r in Gens?
