Modboard v2

I've got a 64-pin IC model 2 import Saturn, with the v2 modboard from here installed.

With the chip installed I can play original software with no problems, backups on the other hand refuse to load. Seeing as the originals will load and the backups will not, this must mean the modboard is ok...?

What could be the problem with the backups not loading? The Saturn can read the CD-R medium I am using, burnt audio CD's work just fine. A couple of the backup CD-R's will play the game audio, but not the game data itself. Could it be the way I am burning the CD's? I've burnt many diffrent backups for many a console and never had this kind of luck.

Any insight would be great.

Thank you.

I've been trying all sorts of things to get the Saturn to boot these backups. I'm sure that the discs are burnt the right way, they play just fine on an emulator.

I can't even get a backup to boot using the swap trick! I have also tried adjusting the potentiometer on the back of the laser assembly, no luck.

Has anyone else had these kinds of problems with backups and their Saturns/modboards? I find it quite odd that it (the Saturn) will play originals and not backups with the modboard installed.

Again, any insight would really be appreciated.

Thanks.

Whoa I didn't know there was a V2 chip, i'm gonna buy so i'll let you know how my install goes, I have 2 Saturns on the way - both Japanese, one is model 1 and one is model 2 so i'll see what IC / Chip they have when I receive them and try an install.
