Modding Japanese Saturns - Which Model Number?

Sorry if this question has already been answered, I searched for a while trying to find answers >_<

I got my hands on a White Saturn (HST-3220) following purchasing a chip from Racketboy but opening it up (the saturn) to find it's a 64-pin model 🙁 I don't have the skill to properly mod it (I think) so I was wondering if anyone out there has a 32-pin Model 2 Japanese saturn and, if so, which model number do you have?

Thanks

Ok I installed the mod, the chip needed some filing.

The CD spins, but drops into the menu screen with the "Checking disc" status, won't run originals or backups.. Music CDs don't work either. I guess this is an un-moddable Saturn?

I joined A+B Only, is it worth soldering it to the PIN on the 64 pin chip? Once again i'd like to hear from anyone that successfully modded a Japanese Saturn and if so which model number they modded! >_<

Ask Racketboy he can give you a tutorial on how to mod a 64 pin saturn you can also search his site for further help goodluck

Have you got the side of the mod chip with the tops of the chips, facing the outside of the Saturn?

Do you have the ribbon cable the right way around?

Try putting the mod chip facing the outside of the Saturn, and try the ribbon cable different ways, the way that it goes into the CD mainboard will be the same as when you opened the Saturn up, but from memory, the way the ribbon plugs into the modchip is the other way around.

Hope this helps!

Yeah I tried a bunch of combinations, I understand that a chip on a 64 pin doesn't carry a 100% chance of working anyway, so i'm not sure where the problem is.. I found that the A+B method doesn't work on Japanese saturns (according to a site I found), and soldering to pin 8 is pretty hard that I can't tell if i've got it connected to the single pin or more than one!

Any tips?
