Just curious, why are you switching to AAC files? Are they smaller, better quality or is it someting else?

About the same size but better quality. Plus it's more widely used.

Ipod, Iriver, Zodiac, and a couple others.

are you sure? i have an iriver h120 and i dont recall AAC being on the list of supported file types.

Your right, the Iriver did not. Was looking at its huge list of supported formats. Sure does have alot.

That's cool. Actually it doesn't matter to me. I'll probably end up converting them to Vorbis for playing or PCM if I decide to burn them.

Yeah, my iPod takes AAC, so that's all cool...

But i've already got most of the old music section converted to steady rate mp3... the variable may be better quality than, say, 192kbps... but all they ended up doing was confusing the hell out of my winamp and wmp... oh well, i'll give the aac's a shot and see what they sound like 🙂
