New to burning SCD games...

Hey, I need some help on burning a SCD game. The thing is, I have NO idea on how to burn one? When I decompressed the file I was left with an ISO and many MP3 files.

I know I have to convert the MP3 files into WAV files (is using winamp OK to do this or do I have to use a specific program?)

The files are:

Lunar T01 Mode1 2048.iso

Lunar T02 Audio 2352.MP3

Lunar T03 Audio 2352.MP3

.

.

.

Lunar T52 Audio 2352.MP3

I think I'll have to rename the files. They're telling me how to burn it aren't they? (set the mode or whatever to Audio and the other thing to 2352 for the MP3s right?)

Some step-by-step instructions (or something easy to understand for someone who's new to burning in general) would be great! Please include the program which you're using to burn the game.

Thanks for any and all help!

Alright, here's some more specific questions:

1. What program should I use to burn Lunar in? (each place I look at tells me something else)

2. What is a cue sheet? Do I need to use one (or make one...or whatever)?

3. Do the filenames have to be anything specific or does it make a difference? (are they limited to a certain number of characters?)

I guess that's it for now.

Alright, here's some more specific questions:

1. What program should I use to burn Lunar in? (each place I look at tells me something else)

Pick one and try it. If you don't like it try another one. I use CDRWin.

2. What is a cue sheet? Do I need to use one (or make one...or whatever)?

A cue sheet describes the layout of the CD in terms of tracks post and pregaps. For Lunar it would look something like this:

FILE Lunar T01 Mode1 2048.iso BINARY

TRACK 01 MODE1/2048

INDEX 01 00:00:00

POSTGAP 00:02:00

FILE Lunar T02 Audio 2352.MP3 MP3

TRACK 02 AUDIO

PREGAP 00:02:00

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE Lunar T03 Audio 2352.MP3 MP3

TRACK 03 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE Lunar T04 Audio 2352.MP3 MP3

TRACK 04 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE Lunar T05 Audio 2352.MP3 MP3

TRACK 05 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

and so on until you get to track 52.

Whether you need a cuesheet or not depends on the burning software that you use.

You can type them up in notepad or use Lodger's cue maker.

3. Do the filenames have to be anything specific or does it make a difference? (are they limited to a certain number of characters?)

The names you have there describe the track properties.

Lunar T01 Mode1 2048.iso

game name

track number

track type

For the most part the names are unimportant as long as the correct suffix is there and the track names match those used in a cuesheet.

Ok...so what I have to do is make a .cue file with the same name as the .iso file right? Put all the track info on too.

After that, I'd burn the ISO then WAV files then the CUE file? (track at once). The ISO would be Mode1/2048, the WAVs would be Audio/2352. What would the .cue be?

All you'd need to do is to continue writing the cuesheet that I posted up to track 52 or use the cue sheet maker. Depending on the burning software you use you may not even need a cuesheet. Fireburner allows you to burn iso/mp3 images without a cuesheet.

After that, I'd burn the ISO then WAV files then the CUE file? (track at once). The ISO would be Mode1/2048, the WAVs would be Audio/2352. What would the .cue be?

After that you'd load the cuesheet into the burning program of you choice, select TAO and burn the CD.

Ugh...problem after problem!

I load up CDRWin, load the cuesheet and it gives me an error message saying, "ERROR: Invalid CUE SHEET command at line 5 WAVE file is invalid or not CDROM compatible"

I used the cuemaker you recommended (I also noticed you didn't have any quotation marks in your sample cue sheet).

My cue sheet looks like:

FILE "Lunar T01 Mode1 2048.iso" BINARY

TRACK 01 MODE1/2048

INDEX 01 00:00:00

POSTGAP 00:02:00

FILE "Lunar T02 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

TRACK 02 AUDIO

PREGAP 00:02:00

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Lunar T03 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

TRACK 03 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Lunar T04 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

TRACK 04 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Lunar T05 Audio 2352.wav" WAVE

TRACK 05 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

I need some more help (we've almost got through this now >_<). The cuesheet is named, "Lunar.cue". Is that alright? (if I remember correctly, it is as long as it says where the files are)

FILE "Lunar T01 Mode1 2048.iso" BINARY

TRACK 01 MODE1/2048

try changing it to that (the wav and wave entries changed to mp3) or converting the mp3s to wavefiles and then try again (shouldnt matter which if your system is reasonablely fast, if it isnt then conver before burning) thats the only thing i can see immediatly on line 5 anyway

it doesnt matter what the cuesheet is called, its the contents that matter, common sense should prevail though so calling it lunar is a good idea

if you have converted the files check youve created 44000hz wave files with stereo sound as well

I did convert the files to wav, they are 44kHz but mono
sleep.gif
Guess I'll go fix that now. Since the files were wav files when I tried loading the cue file, I myself don't know why I got an error?

Hello, everyone. I am new here and I just started with Sega CD ISO emulation. I did everything so far, but it appears I am having the same problem as Pulse Crawler had- CDRWIN won't load my CUE sheet. It says "Error on Line 5". I have a .WAV version and a .MP3 version, they were both made with SCM. This is what the WAV version looks like:

FILE "Lunar.iso" BINARY

TRACK 01 MODE1/2048

INDEX 01 00:00:00

POSTGAP 00:02:00

FILE "Lunar02.wav" WAVE

TRACK 02 AUDIO

PREGAP 00:02:00

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Lunar03.wav" WAVE

TRACK 03 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Lunar04.wav" WAVE

TRACK 04 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Lunar05.wav" WAVE

TRACK 05 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

And this is what the MP3 version looks like:

FILE "Lunar.iso" BINARY

TRACK 01 MODE1/2048

INDEX 01 00:00:00

POSTGAP 00:02:00

FILE "Lunar02.MP3" MP3

TRACK 02 AUDIO

PREGAP 00:02:00

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Lunar03.MP3" MP3

TRACK 03 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Lunar04.MP3" MP3

TRACK 04 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

FILE "Lunar05.MP3" MP3

TRACK 05 AUDIO

INDEX 01 00:00:00

Anyone know the problem? Thanks,

~Keranu

Is the audio track you are using actually called Lunar02.wav or Lunar02.mp3? Is it in the same folder as the cuesheet and iso file?

CDRWin is telling you there is a problem with the line of the cuesheet that describes the second track.

Alright, the cue sheet loaded (in CDRWIN) but I can't find the track-at-once option? Where is it or what do I do?

cdrwin doesnt have a track at once option

its disc at once only

From the Golden Hawk web site:

Our software is not limited to just DAO recording...it also supports track-at-once recording, ISO9660 disc mastering, as well as containing a powerful disc backup utility. We continually update our software to support the latest CDROM recorders on the market (updates are quickly available from this web site).

How you damn well use it I have no idea. ???

Yes, that's what it is called and it is in the same folder with as the CUE and ISO. There shouldn't be anything wrong with the second track. I don't know if this would do anything, but what if I used SCM and made a CUE for the MP3s first and then decode the MP3s to WAVs and make a CUE for the .wavs after that? Here, this may help- I had my MP3s and WAVs all in one folder once with the ISO and tried making a CUE for them with SCM, but SCM maker said there were too many files. Arrgh, this is really aggrivating me.
