Playing Genesis model 2 on a reciever

I have a model 2 Genesis with model 2 Segacd. I tried to hook it up to a reciever I have. It's an RCA RT2250, an HTIB. I think all the ports are s-video, even the vcr. I tried connecting the genesis to every port but I got no video signal, just audio. I'm using a composite video connection. Am I stuck? Is there an s-video connector for the genesis 2? Right now I have it hooked it to another smaller tv, only mono. Thanks.
